Plano Real Estate

Located on the southern edge of Collin County, Plano enjoys all the perks of being a part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex without being right in the thick of it. Plano boasts many awards such as Forbes “#1 Safest City” for 2010 and has been rated the wealthiest city in the US by both CNN Money and the US Census Bureau (2008). The latter is helped by the fact that many corporation headquarters call Plano home, including: Frito-Lay, Siemens PLM Software, JC Penny, Cinemark Theatres, Dell, Ericsson, HP Enterprise Services, and Dr. Pepper Snapple Group. The awards are not just for the adults though, Plano students receive an excellent education and they have the scores and awards to prove it. Plano ISD schools were rated as “Exemplary” in all 25 academic indicators and 23 of their campuses have received the coveted National Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence Honor; an honor only awarded to 16% of schools in the country. The arts thrive here as well; Plano schools were rated as one of the “Best 100 Communities for Music Education in America” for 2010. Life is not all work though for Plano residents. Plano is very well known for the Plano Balloon Festival, a beautiful annual gathering of hot-air balloons, and for the Plano International Festival. Residents and visitors also enjoy unique movies at the Angelika Film Center & Café and shopping and dining at The Shops at Legacy.
