Ready for something new?

Have you ever wanted to start over and do something new?  I know this thought hits me most Monday mornings and every Friday afternoon.

Thomas Edison once said, “To invent, you need a good imagination and a pile of junk”.  Denton, being ever the eclectic hub of creativity has the proverbial pile of junk and a whole weekend just for you!  Next month, Denton’s Maker Space Collective sponsors an event to pitch your idea, join a team, iron out your business model, and build away!  For 54 hours, developers, designers, business experts, and makers will come to build prototypes and launch startups that use hardware or software to interconnect us all and change the world.

For those of you that have not heard about Denton Maker Space Collective, prepare to be amazed.  It is a community workshop where anyone can have access to the tools to make whatever your heart desires.  Similar to having that cool neighbor with the state of the art tools in his garage, the Maker Space is 50 cool neighbors at one awesome location.  Everything from 3-D printers to woodworking to welding to circuit boards to arts and crafts.  For a small membership fee you can learn and use any piece of equipment you see in their workshop.

This is one of the things I absolutely love about Denton!  There are always events that inspire and all you have to do is show up!. On November 13th – 15th at The Factory @ University of North Texas, you can make your big dreams a reality.
